At Grandview we learn to CARE for OURSELVES, OTHERS, the WORK WE DO, the ENVIRONMENT and OUR FAMILY. These five values help make many of our defining decisions at the school.
Our values are prominent at our monthly assemblies as students can receive CARE certificates recognizing their various accomplishments. Students are exposed to our CARE values during CARE time which occurs every Thursday afternoon. Grade groupings come meet with school admin for this teaching while our grade teachers meet for collaborative time. During this structured class time, students learn, share and practice messages of CARING and what that should look like at GV. Students have helped develop behavioral expectations for the areas inside and outside our school (i.e. classroom and playground). Students often receive a video message that exposes them to one or more of these themes through YouTube, movie clips and commercials.
